***FAZIT VORWEG:*** Quinta Splendida ist eines der schönsten Hotels auf Madeira und fabelhaft für jeden, der Natur und einzigartiges Ambiente liebt. Die Hotelanlage wirkt eher wie ein Park als ein normaler Garten und auch die Zimmer sind stilvoll eingerichtet und bieten allen nötigen Komfort. Perfekt für Leut, die Entspannung suchen und gerne Landestypisches kennenlernen möchten!
***LAGE***
Das Quinta Splendida liegt oberhalb von Funchal, Madeiras Hauptstadt, und bietet somit einen Panormablick auf das Meer und einen Teil der Insel. Das gesamte Grundstück - einst der Garten eines Herrenhauses, der eigentlich Quinta - nimmt eine Fläche von 30.000 Quadratmetern ein und ist nun ein botanischer Garten, in dem inseltypische Pflanzen wachsen. Inmitten dieses Parks stehen die hübschen, zumeist zweistöckigen Häuser, in denen die Zimmer untergebracht sind. Auch die alte Quinta steht noch - in ihr befinden sich ebenfalls Zimmer.

Die Hotenalnage besitzt die Restaurant "La Perla" und "Galeria", in denen auch das Abendessen stattfindet. Das Essen hier ist allerdings nichts für Fastfood-Liebhaber oder Buffet-Fans, denn die Menüs, die hier auf den Tisch kommen, sind meist typisch portugiesisch oder Delikatessen von Madeira, zumeist mit vielen Kräutern. Der kulinarische Feinschmecker wird hieran sicher seine Freude haben, aber für Kinder ist die Küche wahrscheinlich weniger geeignet.
***EMPFEHLUNG:***
Quinta Splendida ist perfekt für Urlauber, die einen ruhigen und entspannten Urlaub verbringen möchten. Vor allem älteren dürfte die ruhige Lage mit dem paradiesischen Garten gefallen, und auch Menschen, die Freude an Natur haben und einmal dem stressigen Alltag entfliehen wollen, sind hier genau richtig. Kinder mit Familien sollten dagegen lieber auf andere Hotels ausweichen, denn Quinta Splendida ist kein normales Touristenhotel, sondern eine außergewöhnliche Anlage, in der man viel Wert auf Ruhe und Landestypisches legt. Wer das mag, der wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen - denn mit seinem Park ist das Quinta Splendida auf jeden Fall eines der schönsten von ganz Portugal.
